Grace be with you

Galatians 6:18 As we live amongst each other may we offer grace to each other.

The marks of Jesus remind us to be good to each other

Galatians 6:17 "  From now on, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks  of Jesus." Paul It makes me think that we need to be good to each other as Christians because there is enough pressure coming from outside the Christian community.

Grace and peace

Galatians 6:14-16 The letter of the law is not as important as the new person God is making us. This new person will begin to exhibit the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Love, joy peace patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control

It’s not about what we have done!

Galatians 6:14-15 It’s not about what we have done it’s about what Christ has done on the Cross. Has His death and resurrection made you a new creation? music about the cross

Defining moments

Galatians 6:12-13 Have you thought about your defining moments? The day you were baptized, the day you were married, the day... Well Paul is helping folks wrestle with their defining moments in faith. As gentiles the folks aren’t circumcised so the Jewish Christians are saying to be circumcised is a defining moment for the gentiles but Paul says think again. It’s a flesh thing not a spiritual thing. He also says if you subscribe to the law you have to obey it all and no one is doing this...so he says step out in faith. This gives us the opportunity to obey the next little thing God tells us to do.

Learn

Galatians 6:11 I find it interesting as Paul is trying to teach a new way of life that he interrupts his teaching to share with his audience what he’s been learning...hand writing. It’s also interesting that he’s learning later on in life. May we always be teachable.

Take care of others

Galatians 6:10 It’s interesting to note here we’re to especially take care of those who belong to the family of believers

Don’t quit

Galatians 6:8-9 A harvest is not instant but if you continue to sow by the Spirit you will see the harvest.

Two way streets

Galatians 6:6 Let the student learn from the teacher and the teacher from the student.

Do not be deceived

Monitor yourself

Galatians 6:3-5 It’s important to not think more (or less) highly of yourself but test your actions and be proud of them without  comparing to another person. This is because we’re each responsible for our own load.

Wisdom when others struggle

Galatians 6:1-2 If we’re wise we will take time to pray and seek Gods direction when others sin. It’s important to see the other perspective and carry each other’s  burden.

Be careful of conceit and envy

Galatians 5:26 Watch out for conceit and envy. We don’t want to provoke each other.

Let's keep in step with the Spirit

Galatians 5:24-25 Let's keep in step with the Spirit and crucify the desires of the flesh.

Fruit of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22-23 If we walk by the Spirit we will produce fruit of the Spirit so let’s do it.

Things of the flesh

Galatians 5:18-21 The list of things of the flesh is long; but if we walk by the Spirit as opposed to the flesh we are not under the law.

Desires...of the Spirit or of the flesh?

Galatians 5:16-17 I'm reminded of how often my desire to eat chocolate out weighs my desire to study God's word.  How about you?  Are you following the desires of the Spirit or the desires of the flesh?

Watch out!

Galatians 5:15 There are consequences to devouring each other so be kind to each other.
